Wyre Forest Animal Trust is solely run by volunteers in the Wyre Forest
area.
Our purpose is to aid low income pet owners to have their animals
neutered, this way unwanted kittens and puppies do not become the next
generation of animal cruelty statistics.
We also take in 'unwanted' pets and place them in foster homes until a
permanent home can be found for them. For the foster carers, we cover
the cost of food and any veterinary bills.
Wyre
Forest Animal Trust
are also carers for rescued hedgehogs and other small wildlife in the
local area. If you find a hedgehog or other small wildlife in trouble
and need advice or help, please contact us.
Why Neuter my Pet?
The dog and cat population can either be humanely controlled by
neutering or left to nature. Nature is cruel and the population will be
controlled by starvation and disease as there are no natural predators
of the cat or dog in the UK.
The most likely scenario would be the situation seen by many
holidaymakers abroad, where there are starving colonies of sick animals
which simply killed by the authorities to contain numbers. A situation
most people in this country would find intolerable.
Animals don't have a choice, we do however, so please have your pet
neutered. Please look at the 'Neuter cat' or 'Neuter dog' pages for more
information.
Be part of the solution - Not the problem.
A message was left on our contact page from a person that ignored the
option of neutering their bitch. Please read their story, it is very sad
but highlights the consequences of not neutering your pet.

Worming your pet... why bother?
Unfortunately, due to the increase of unwanted puppies and kittens, worms are now becoming a more common ailment. Worms are spread in various ways. It is very important to keep your animals worm free, especially in the young as it can effect their growth and in some cases cause death. Volunteering.
Help is always greatly needed in a variety of ways such as transport,
the collection/delivery of items, home visits and of course, most
importantly, fundraising. If you are interested and feel you may have
something to offer, even if it is not something mentioned here, we would
love to hear from you.
