Other Wildlife.

As we stated on the home page, we also rescue various other small wild animals that are either injured or cannot fend for themselves. The most common animal that we rescue are hedgehogs. If you see a hedgehog wandering around in daylight it is a usually a sign that they are either hungry or unwell. Many hedgehogs do not put on enough weight to carry themselves through hibernation. If you see or have a hedgehog that needs attention, or would like any advice, please get in touch with us. If they are not capable of hibernation we keep them over winter in suitable conditions. The images below are a couple that were released back into the wild in early april.

And here is the latest addition to our 'rescue family'.
This baby squirrel was found on the ground beneath the tree that its dray was in. Unfortunately due to high winds parts of the tree and its contents were destroyed leaving this squirrel orphaned. It was estimated that the squirrel was only a couple of days old. After many days of 'syringe' feeding her every three to four hours, she is now thriving!

This green woodpecker was rescued after being attacked by a cat:  Another injured hedgehog gets a second chance.
